FASHION JUNQUI: Ruthie Davis Sneakers Pre-Autumn 2012

Shoe and accessory designer Ruthie Davis adds new colors and silhouette tweaks for her pre-Autumn 2012 sneaker offerings. Best known for her spikey, sky-high heels, she shows a high level of acumen as a sneaker designer despite her newness to the category in part because her come-up credentials include time spent at one of the big athletic shoe brands.

FASHION JUNQUI: Kanye West Fall/Winter 2012 Womenswear Collection
YEEEEZZZZYYY!!!!!!! Man, I remember years ago listening to Kanye West during my cancer treatments, his music was such an inspiration. His music helped me stay bold and remember I got major swag and I couldn’t let Cancer or anyone else take it away.Kanye reminded me all over again on October 1, 2011 when he debuted his first womenswear line during Paris Fashion Week.
Today, Kanye presented his second collection, Fall/Winter 2012, which expanded upon many of his Spring 2012 concepts bringing them to a more refined, often darker, place. Overall the collection appears to be, dare we say, “harder, better, faster, stronger.”

FASHION JUNQUI: HATS FALL/WINTER 2011
Hats are no longer for a “Bad Hair Day”. Judging by what we’ve seen on the runways, hats are most definitely the IT accessory for Fall-Winter 2011.From Wide brim and Fedora hats to school caps and men’s head wear inspired bowlers, the hats for this season are anything but boring. In order to help you make the right choice, we selected three different types of headwear that (by our opinion) will be the most popular this fall.
Wide brim hats
They are romantic, ultra feminine, and they will certainly catch everyone’s attention. These large brim, floppy hats are probably the best complement to the free spirited Bohemian look that is soooo trendy this fall. Fashion JUNQUI’s suggested combinations:
Brim hat+ flowing maxi dress+ platforms
Brim hat+ denim flares+ vintage T-shirt+ vintage faux fur coat
- Photos to get you inspired:
If you prefer classic, boy-chic style, then you should definitely go for Fedora hat .They came in a variety of colors and designs, and this season they are usually decorated with feathers which makes them incredibly catchy. Fedora hats look amazing when paired with formal outfits, but they are just as good when used as a complement to the daytime casual look. Suggested combinations:
Fedora hat +dress+ blazer + oxfords
Fedora + denim shirt +wide leg trousers +oxfords
- Photos to get you inspired:
FASHION JUNQUI: Sheer Genius
Slightly see-through tops, skirts, and the like are not the most original of trends, but stylish nonetheless and trending big time for Fall/Winter 2011.
Today lets talk about the skirts. A sheer skirt can add interest to your look and add pretty, swirling layers. Just be sure to wear something underneath and make sure your skirt is longer, because, well, we all know a see-through miniskirt is bound for trouble. Geared towards winter they look fabulous.
FASHION JUNQUI: DETACHABLE COLLARS
Fashion JUNQUIs meet this fall’s new accessory obsession…detachable collars!
The detachable collar is versatile, comes in a range of playful styles, and can be tied, buttoned or snapped. Hot!
They come in every occasion and can dress up a dull t-shirt, jacket or dress that can be transformed into the perfect camera ready outfit.
FASHION JUNQUI: TOUCH MY VELVET BABY…Oooww
Forget denim, corduroy, and lace—this fall, the fabric you need is velvet. Designers like Miu Miu and Erdem have come down with a serious velvet crush, and we can totally see why. We, too, have fallen—hard—for this soft, supple material that’s perfect for showing off your style stripes and helping you transition summer staples into a fall-ready wardrobe. We’re certainly not talking ill-fitting Renaissance Faire capes and schmatas—oh no, this season it’s all about sophisticated silhouettes and sharp tailoring so your velvet pieces will really elevate your fall look. From blazers to sexy shoes to the ultimate velvet sheath-dress to take you from work to weekend play, the best velvet essentials are right here. So, get ready to fall in love.
FASHION JUNQUI: KNOCK’N BOOTS (MENS)
Last fall, military-inspired lace-ups were a natural — and damn-fine looking — progression. This season, not much has changed. Military is still hot, we are just wearing them differently. Designers took their inspiration from soldiers who marched by foot, climbed atop horses, or rode motorcycles, there was a pair of lug-sole boots stomping down every nearly catwalk from Milan to New York. Either way, it’s pretty clear that men have preferred a substantial boot of late because of how long it lasts, not to mention the variety of prices. Plus, hey, you try wearing Vans in a blizzard? This season, Rock them Boots, Put a sock in them Boots so you can get the Knock’n in them Boots. ( Corny but shut up that was all I could come up with chump!)

FASHION JUNQUI: Lace with the Illest Rings
The gorgeous designer, Tanaya Henry, has introduced rings into her Lace accessories line. Like her draped earrings, the rings are capable of upping the drama and elegance quotient of any look. Images via Lace.
FASHION JUNQUI: Fall 2011 Supra… Doing the “Douglas”
“For Fall 2011 Supra goes above and beyond the original Henry boot, with a more rugged, outdoor-focused offering. Take the Douglas (front) which features tough metal eyelets, woven rope laces and heavy-gauge stitching with waterproof uppers and neoprene lining, meaning they’re both comfy, easy to pull on and off, and keep you dry.
Second up to bat (the back 5) is the Skyboot, a piece of footwear that takes the highly-recognizable Skytop silo and mates it with a heavy-duty lug outsole (and moccasin style stitching) to give birth to a weather-ready outdoor stomper. The addition of raw leather laces finishes the look, further enunciating the traditional boot lineage they’ve attempted to harness.
And yes, Muska fans, the “stash pocket” remains intact.”-via Highsnobiety

FASHION JUNQUI: Christian Louboutin is taking it too far!
These Christian Louboutin shoes are horrible! I don’t think Louboutin ever learned the lesson that you can’t cover up funk with perfume. These “Ailoi Spike” booties from his newest collection are a prime example. Putting spikes on something does not make it hot! If I see one of you there with these you can “X” yourself from theJUNQUI family. Also for all our Fashion JUNQUIes who design shoes, its time to get to work!
